The Computer System
The best way for me to help you understand your computer System is for me to go into great detail about the computers I have. That way you can see the parallels with your own computer system.
The computer system I use consists of 3 computers Networked together. All computers are linked with Synergy so I use only one Keyboard and mouse to control computers. 3 screens is the minimum number of screens for me to be productive . I am able to switch between writing code for my web authoring tool, writing the website and researching the material for the website. More screens would be better and are planned.
Dell OptiPlex 755 Small Form Factor
The work horse is my Dell OptiPlex 755 small form factor computer running Windows 7. It comes with the Intel 8400 dual processor.

Netgear DG834 ADSL modem router
I like this type of router as it enables me to get rid of those unwanted wires. Not only because it has wireless capabilities, but also because it it really 3 devices in one. It is a Router, a Wirelss Router and a ADSL modem.
CanoScan LiDE 30 Scanner
I love this scanner for simplicity of use. It works and keeps on going. So I plan to keep this useful scanner. All the documents on this site are scanned in with the CanoScan LiDE 30.
Epilog
Even though a lot of my equipment is dated and some of it I should never of purchases, I do manage to get by. My goal is to earn an income from my website. That has already begun with my Google Adsence account. I think no matter what hardware you own you must start somewhere. I do have a long way to go, but I have started and that's the important thing.
