There are people you come across that you remember straight away. They come right out you with their imagination, creativity and zest for life. You just have to book mark these people and come back and see what they have to say. Here is my collection of these people that have effected me over the years that I have been on the net.

The funny thing about these people, even though I found them one at a time from many different areas of the net, is that they seem to know each other and are often part of Leo Larporte's Podcast (Netcast) TWIT. 

Howard Rheingold

 

As far as the internet went Howard Rheingold is the guy that saw it all coming. He knows his electronic history from Babbage to Allan Turing. He certainly knows the present. But its uncanny way of seeing and presenting the present that makes him so readable.

It is easy for me to say my first golden light on the net was Howard Rheingold. So I guess you can say I got off to a good start. His books "Tools For Thought"  and "The Virtual Community" help understand exactly what was happening on the web. This guy know his stuff and makes predictions and reports on phenomenon as they appear with great accuracy.

Leo Laporte

 

All roads on the net seem to lead to Leo Laporte. I found him via the grc.com site when I was testing my computer for any open ports.

Short of me finding Belmont on Twitter within two consecutive searches, all  internet roads seem to point to Leo Laporte. His Podcast TWIT  flows wonderfully.  The seemingly unscripted show is filled with plenty of information about present and upcoming technology. The guests are just as interesting with some guest being regular personalities on TWITS podcast ( Netcast: Leo's preferred name of this medium )

Co Host of the wonderful Tekzilla show on the net. I first listen to this lady on Buzz out Loud where she made the leap from sound engineer to presenter. Sadly she sort of left BOL but reappeared on Techzilla.  Knows Leo Laporte

Host of the This Week in Science  podcast as well as having her own Web Site . Science reporter Dr Kirsten Sanford knows what she is talking about, she's a doctor in Neurophysiology. Although This Week in Science (TWIS) will not suit everyone, the podcast does have a friendly and informative tone which may attract the science curious among us. Knows Leo Laporte

The reason I have mentioned Leo Laporte in this manner is that he seems to appears from every direction I go. I discovered Leo when I was testing my ports with shields up over at Steve Gibson's site GRC. Almost every time I discover a great Tech podcast Leo appears as a guest or the Podcaster appears on Leo's podcast as a guest. I though the Internet was a vast system of millions of computers and people. But when it comes to quality the Internet is a small place indeed.
