Windows security is a moving target. Holes are constantly being discovers and fixes are constantly being made available by Microsoft to combat them. Microsoft ships these updates direct to your computer in Windows Updates. These updates can be downloaded automatically to your computer and installed.

By default Windows Updates are switched on.

To turn on or make sure Windows Updates are turn on Click Start >> Control Panel

in the control panel click Automatic Updates

Select the Automatic option to turn Automatic Updates on.

You can also select Automatic Updates in the control panel
