Explore

Explore is just like your filing cabinet, get to know this application. It is powerful,  useful and dangerous. So understanding Explore is vital. You see, your computer is fill of only one type of thing. These things are files. Even applications are a type of file. Even folders are a type of File. You computers hard drive stores files. Windows Explore show you where these files are.

Explore allows you to

  1. Create Folders    
  2. Create Files         
  3. Rename Files and Folders.
  4. Delete Files and Folders.
  5. Open Files and Folders.
  6. Search for Files 
  7. And Lots More..

In many ways Explore is just like a Filing Cabinet

The Filing Cabinet is like your hard drive. The draws are like drives, folders are just like folder.

A folder can have inside it another folder or a file.

To open Explore right click the start button and then click Explore.

 

 


Folders and Files

Explore stores two types of things. Folder    and Files .  A files holds data that applications create, save and open. A folder holds Files and other Folders. If a Folder has more Folders inside it there is a small plus sign next to it.
